Planning a chimney sweep or fireplace inspection?
The first cold night of the year, a recent home purchase, or a smoky smell when the fireplace is not lit.
We accept chimney sweeping & inspection requests in selected areas. Send your ZIP code and we confirm whether a contractor is available.
What to discuss with your contractor
Ask which of these items are included in your written quote. The final scope depends on your property and the contractor you choose.
- Flue swept and deposits removed
- Which inspection level is proposed and what it covers
- Cap and crown checked for water entry and nesting
- Written findings, including anything that could not be examined
A clear scope. A clear price.
Property size, access and the condition of your system affect the cost. Ask your contractor to explain the work and confirm pricing before starting. Any additional work should be discussed and approved by you.
Make your first conversation useful.
Share your fireplace or stove type, when it was last inspected and anything that has changed. If you do not know the history, say so. Ask which inspection and cleaning fit your home.
What can affect your quote?
- Type and number of fireplaces or flues
- Access to the chimney and its parts
- Inspection level and the report you ask for
- Whether sweeping, repairs and parts are priced separately
A free request is not a fixed-price service offer. Ask about visit charges, exclusions and the total price before agreeing to an appointment.

Are chimney sweeping and inspection the same service?
No. Sweeping removes deposits; an inspection checks the chimney and fireplace within an agreed scope. Ask whether your quote includes both, which inspection level is proposed and what written findings you will get.
Are chimney repairs included in the cleaning price?
Do not assume so. Ask the contractor to list sweeping, inspection, repairs and parts separately in writing, and agree the price of any extra work before it starts.
Can Airway tell me my fireplace is safe to use?
No. Airway is a referral service and does not inspect or certify fireplaces. Ask the contractor to explain their findings, any limits to the inspection and whether you should stop using the fireplace until further work is done.
Do you take chimney requests everywhere you operate?
Chimney requests depend on local contractor coverage, and demand is low in places with little wood burning. Send your ZIP code and we will tell you if no contractor is available yet.
Airway connects you with independent contractors. Your request is free; scheduling, qualifications and service pricing are confirmed with the contractor.
